Hi, I’m Rebecca T.Y.

I’m an artist and instructor focused on cultivating and sharing the joy of creativity.

I have a passion for painting people and portraits, using them as a way to express the beauty in every individual and tap into the deeper aspects of our shared humanity.

More than that, I am passionate about sharing my love of painting and creating through courses and programs that build artists’ skill and confidence through portrait painting.

My primary medium of choice is oil paint, but I love to experiment with different mediums and techniques and explore new ideas! Creation for me is synonymous with seeking: searching out truth and finding ways to understand and communicate what feels honest and beautiful.

Rebecca lives in Los Angeles with her husband and cofounder of RTY Art Academy, Luke Tillman-Young. Together they continue to seek out new adventures in art and life.
